The book is about a chicken named Annabelle who lived in a cage all of her life wondering what happens to the chickens when they're taken away. Maybe they get to go on holiday for all the hard work? Although, there were rumours that nothing good ever happens to the chicken who is taken away.

 

Until one night she's the one to leave the cage. She's fearful for her life but she doesn't know that she's being rescued by animal liberators. The next thing she knows  she wakes up on a farm where she meets the rest of the rescued fellow animals and tells them a story of where she comes from and questions the mystery of who have saved her.
